went to see Julie Chang when I had been trying to get pregnant for 10 months.
I wanted to try all means to get pregnant naturally before exploring western methods.
A friend of mine had tried acupuncture for infertility with success so I thought
I would give it a try.
I went to Julie twice a month for acupuncture and
also took Chinese herbs. At the end of the second month I was pregnant! I continued
to get acupuncture during my first trimester to prevent miscarraige and to help

"In
March 2006 I was diagnosed with a complete molar pregnancy, then subsequently
had I experienced 3 additional miscarriages. After seeking the care of many physicians
and undergoing a great deal of testing and visits to a fertility specialist I
was told that there was nothing wrong with me and that I should be able to carry
a baby without a problem. Wondering what then, to make of the habitual miscarriages,
I began to do research on alternative therapies.
I came across
acupuncture as an option for treating problems with pregnancies. I interviewed
many acupuncturists, but it was not until speaking with Julie that I was confident
there was something that an acupuncturist could do for me. I began acupuncture
treatments with Julie once a week combined with acupressure exercises, herbs in
the form of pills, nutrition shakes and a modified diet three months before becoming
pregnant with our daughter.
I began to experience spotting
at approximately 6 weeks, which I feared was the end of this pregnancy, since
this was the typical time frame in which the miscarriages occurred. I called Julie,
panicked, and was told to come in to see both her and Eric for treatments to get
it under control. I saw them both frequently and was prescribed additional herbal
tea to drink until I was 24 weeks pregnant. It was with their dedication to helping
my baby thrive that I carried her full term.

"When
we decided to start a family we were thrilled that we got pregnant on the first
try. Unfortunately it ended in a blighted ovum miscarriage and D&C. After
a year and a half of trying after that with no luck, and being no strangers to
acupuncture, we decided to both go to the acupuncturist we’d been seeing
for years for sports and work related aches and pains. He was a miracle worker
for pain management and even colds, so we were confident he could help us with
fertility. We did conceive again after another year, saw the heartbeat at our
first ultrasound appointment, but again suffered a miscarriage.
By this time
we decided it was time to have a fertility workup, so we began seeing a reproductive
endocrinologist along with continued acupuncture. The RE could find no explanation
for our troubles. We tried 5 rounds of clomid with no success. Meanwhile another
year had passed.
We were feeling very frustrated that nothing was working.
We knew acupuncture should be helping us, and even though it hadn’t helped
yet, we remembered the incredible effect the treatments had on my husband’s
shoulder injury and my carpel tunnel. We decided to find an acupuncturist that
specialized in fertility; that perhaps our treatments weren’t honing in on
our deficiencies well enough. That’s when we found Julie.
Over 4 years
had passed since the first miscarriage, so we decided to begin seeing Julie in
conjunction with fertility treatments. I had three cycles of repronex injections
and IUIs: the first cycle was cancelled because I hyperstimulated, ending up with
over 25 follicles on each ovary! My RE said my body responded the way they’d
expect a 25 year old’s to respond, and I knew it was the acupuncture strengthening
my body. The second cycle resulted in a chemical pregnancy. The third cycle joyously
resulted in another pregnancy, this time with twins! Rachel and Ruben were born
healthy at 37 weeks, one month before my 38th birthday.
We believe without
a doubt that we would not have our twins today if it weren’t for Julie and

"I came to the office with a history of recurrent
pregnancy losses, one at an early gestational age and another one ended with still
birth at 32 weeks of gestation. And for unknown causes I had 4 years of secondary
infertility after the pregnancy losses. Numerous OBGYN doctors kept telling me
that everything was fine, however, no pregnancy in sight... After one month at

"After
the birth of our first daughter I discovered I had Poly Cystic Ovaries along with
an underactive Thyroid (Hypothyroiditis) which wasn't helping in our dreams to
expand our family. After two years of trying on our own, we turned to an infertility
doctor which unfortunately led to four unsuccessful IUI (Inter Uterine Insemination)
procedures and one miscarriage. After two years with the infertility doctor I
decided to give up and cleanse my body of all the hormones and meds that were
given to me.
My sister-in-law had mentioned that she had used an acupuncturist
in the Bay Area to aid her in her quest to conceive and low and behold, she was
pregnant within the first three months of acupuncture sessions. I didn't believe

"At six weeks pregnant with
my second child. I found myself in the hospital for severe back pain. No one would
touch me aside from giving me what the doctors called safe pain meds for pregnancy??
Aside from the fact that I did not want to rely on pills to make it through my

the time, I was under the care of 5 Western Doctors of varying specialties who
were consulting with another 4 "medical experts" from varying fields.
